I’ve managed to borrow someone’s laptop, so I can upload a few photos for you to check out.
First up, here’s where I’m staying.
I love the architecture in Austria, though it is hard for me not to keep humming the theme tune to Heidi as I wander about the place.
It’s a nice hotel, but I am sharing a room with 8 other guys, all of us together on mattresses on the floor. It gets a little ripe, especially in the entranceway where 20 pairs of boots and shoes provide quite an interesting olfactory experience.
It is gorgeous here though, especially when the sun is out. I mean check this out for a view.
How’d you like to wake up to that in the morning? Them’s The Alps y’know. In fact, where we are, we’re high enough up to be pretty much in the clouds (when it’s cloudy).
It must be nice to live here full time, though it seems like if you do you have to get some goats, or bees, or both.
Seriously, they’re everywhere. Wherever you go the sound of cattle bells is in the air. Doesn’t help with the whole Heidi thing though.
As for the course it’s going well. They’ve taken it easy on us so far. Will be interesting to see how much more challenging the next few weeks get. There’s homework but not too much. I manage to get mine done before bed each day.
It’s only been a week but already I can tell I’m getting more flexible. Unfortunately I’ve found out that yoga is no good for losing weight apparently. “For that you have to eat less,” says the Swami. So in an effort to reduce my wee belly I’ve taken that on board. It’s short portions for me for a while.
I used to have a little routine before I left the house; money, keys, wallet, mobile (patting pockets as I went). Now it’s blanket, cushion, mat, notebook. Funny how life changes, eh? 🙂
